What’s it like to spend a day on Capitol Hill urging U.S. senators to continue funding science education? WUSTL doctoral student Kelly Kranjc got to try her hand at political persuasion last month through a program sponsored by Material Advantage, a national organization for students in materials science.

Diversity initiative raises awareness across Medical Campus

Daniel Blash and Denise DeCou, diversity and inclusion leaders at the School of Medicine, are on a mission to create a work environment that includes and nurtures people from all backgrounds. Their assignment is to reach 50 percent of the medical school workforce by June.

‘Moving Parts’ exhibition opens at the Kemper

The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum exhibition “Moving Parts: Time and Motion in Contemporary Art” opens Friday, May 9. Drawn mostly from the museum’s permanent collection, it aims to get people thinking differently about time and space.

Education students encourage reading in local schools

Kevin Crouch, a senior in Arts & Sciences, reads to a Holman Elementary class during “On the Move: Encouraging Literacy,” a service project by WUSTL’s Kappa Delta Pi chapter. Students in KDP, the international honor society in education, recently donated and delivered more than 300 books to Holman students and teachers.
